The first-generation Highlander was introduced at the 2000 New York auto show. Every year since then, it’s only gotten better and better! In comparison with the third-generation model it takes over from, the latest Highlander model has a much more sleek and sporty design. There were over 250,000 Highlanders sold in North America last year, and we expect the 2022 model to take over from where the 2021 model left off.

Hybrid & Gas Engine

There are two different engine options that come with the 2023 Toyota Highlander. The first option is a 3.5-liter V-6 with an eight-speed automatic. This provides you with 295 hp and 263 lb.-ft of torque. Moreover, it is equipped with optional all-wheel-drive system, which delivers 21 mpg city and 27 mpg highway. The other option is a hybrid engine that integrates a 2.5-liter four-cylinder with an electric motor and a CVT to give you 240 hp. Initially, the hybrid will only be offered with front-wheel drive as an effort to lower cost and optimize fuel efficiency.
